Songhai Ventures is an Austin-based multifamily housing development and consulting firm founded in 2001 by Cherno M. Njie, President.  The company specializes in leveraging public and private investments to develop affordable housing through the use of federal tax credits and private activity bonds.   Cherno Njie brings nearly a decade of experience in housing finance as manager of the Tax Credit Program for the state of Texas from 1991-2001.  During this period, he oversaw the allocation of tax credits to hundreds of projects resulting in the production of over 70,000 multifamily housing units across Texas involving rural, urban and suburban communities.
